When you study the findings of the various agencies and companies who rate banks for strength and security, it becomes quite obvious that bigger is not necessarily better. Of course there are exceptions, but you will generally find that smaller banks fare better in the quality ratings than the big ones do. Bigger is not better.

The First National Bank is proud to announce the launch of its latest account offering in SPIRIT Checking. The mission of this product was to create a vehicle by which donations, funded by FNBB, could be made to area high schools without cost to its customers. When a SPIRIT Checking customer makes a debit card purchase, the Bank will record the transaction and, each quarter; combine it with all additional transactions and the transactions from other customers to make a cash donation to the designated school. Account holders will have checks bearing the logo of their selected school and the customer's debit card will also reflect the school's logo. The six area schools which will participate in the SPIRIT Checking benefits include: Charles Henderson High School, Pike County High School, Pike Liberal Arts School, Ariton High School, Goshen High School and Zion Chapel High School.

Spirit Checking is free of monthly service charges when the customer enrolls for e-statements. In addition to the customer having logo checks and debit card, the account will provide for free online banking and free bill pay options. Call 735.2351 or 670.2057 today for more information.
